I purchased this Newgate clock at Chapter’s the other day and when I was figuring out where to put it, I realized I either have a growing obsession with clocks or time. Appears I have a clock of some sort in all the places I frequent during the day.
The new clock I placed next to my computer, even though the computer does a good job of telling me the time.
I keep the little pocket watch I picked up at a craft fair above my ironing table.
I have two clocks in the studio (the happy place) so that from wherever I am working, if I look up, I can see the time.
As you can see, I have clocks everywhere and I haven’t considered the time shown from appliances! Or the fact that I don’t leave the house without a watch!
In trying to figure out why I have I have accumulated so many time devices, I figured out it more than likely has to do with keeping a schedule. Working from home, at least for me, means a lot of potential distractions. The first year both kids were in school full-time, I honestly spun circles for most of the year. The second year of the kids being school was better in terms of organizing my time, but so far this year has been the best. I use the time to determine how long I work for and then move on to the next project. Knowing the time, at all times :), doesn’t seem to guarantee I will make appointments on time though considering I always seem to be rushing but it has helped and I am not late as much as I used to be. At the end of the day, I guess we all do what works best for us and for me, it seems using time as a measurement or schedule works better than using the project itself to determine a schedule.
Hoping you are having a great ‘time’ wherever you are and thanks so much for stoppin’ by!
