I received Gabe’s quilt back from the quilter, Karine’s Quilting Touch, just before we left for our trip to Vancouver. I worked on the binding for about three evenings but deliberately left about ten inches unbound. Why? Because in the craziness of getting ready for the last minute decision to go to Vancouver, there was a lot to do around here (aside from sewing). I love the ‘ahhh’ moment when you completely finish a quilt and throw it in the washer. I knew that if I finished the quilt the night before we left, the ‘ahhh’ moment would not be as satisfying so I deliberately left the little bit to bind for our return and yes, the ‘ahhh’ moment was just as it’s supposed to be. Completely and fully rewarding and wanting to begin the next one 🙂
I love this quilt mainly for the colours and patterns in the fabrics bits but I also love that it tells a story about Gabe.
So, aside from our shared, cuddle quilts, I have made a quilt for Rylee, Gabe and my Dad. Next up on the list is a quilt for Blair. Fabrics have been selected and I have the fabrics so it’s just a matter of time…
Thanks for stoppin’ by and hope you have a lovely day!
