Not sure which I fell in love with more first, the fabric or the quilt pattern but I knew they would work so well together. I had been wanting to make the ‘Happy Camper’ quilt designed by Heather Kojan since I first purchased the Classic Modern Quilts book. I also had two bundles of Florence by Denyse Schimdt ready and willing to be cut up into pieces and put back together to form the Happy Camper Quilt.
I quilted using a two inch grid pattern which worked out well. I almost machine sewed the binding but in the end decided I still love the look of hand bound binding so even though it takes much longer and is more tedious to finish, the results are so much more rewarding.
I always have scraps leftover after completing a quilt but this time, I was determined to make things out of the scraps instead of just adding them to my already over-flowing scrap bucket.
I still have a few more scraps to play with but was happy to be able to produce a quilt and a few pouches out of two fabric bundles.
Fabrics were purchased at Mad About Patchwork and Fabrications.
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by!
