Until I saw the Storybook Collection by Kate & Birdie Paper Co. for Moda, I had not even considered creating a baby quilt, or two. There was something about the patterns in the fabrics and the subdued colours which made me think these were perfect combinations for a baby quilt. Birds, planes, hot air balloons and sweet castles adorn the fabrics. And not in a tacky, juvenile pattern type of way (if that makes sense) but patterns which can blend into any room in your home, not just the nursery.
Babies quilts are washed often so instead of hand binding as I prefer to bind my quilts, I bound the bindings by machine to ensure longevity and to withstand frequent washing.
Both quilts are currently available in my shop and considering how much I enjoyed making the baby quilts, I am hoping to add a few more to the shop soon.
Fabric bundle purchased from the wonderful Warp & Weft .
Thanks for stoppin’ by and hope you have a fabulous day!
