When I purchased the Elementary Collection by Sweetwater for Moda Fabrics, I wanted some element of ‘school’ in the quilt. I googled and searched and discovered the Arithmetic pattern by Jeni Baker of In Color Order was absolutely perfect!
I attempted to quilt this piece but after completing about four rows, I saw the quilt top was starting to pucker and knew by experience that the puckering would just get worse so I took out all the pins and brought the quilt to the professional. Silver Fox Quilting used a Straight Line Stipple quilting pattern with Omni white thread. The result was fitting for the pattern and of course, no puckering 🙂
As I explained to a friend last night when she asked why I don’t finish the entire quilt myself, I told her I am all about the fabrics and piecing them together right now. I haven’t reached the point where the quilting is as important as the quilt design itself but I am sure one day, I will want to work harder at successfully quilting large quilts. For now, I will stick to quilting the baby quilts or smaller sized quilts.
Thanks so much for stoppin’ by and hope you have a fabulous day!
