I enjoyed working with these fabrics so much that this is the second quilt I have made using the Persimmon Collection by Basic Grey for Moda Fabrics.
There is something about the combination of the fabrics I loved, even though navy isn’t my ‘go to’ color, it works so well with the other colors and patterns in this fabric collection. I love the Snow Ball Quilt pattern as it allows for a large background, or negative spaces.
I used a quilters linen for the background snow ball blocks. I love it. I want to use linen for all my background blocks now. I had hoarded and stored the linens in various colors for a long time but either didn’t have the right quilt pattern or nerve to actually attempt to use it.
I had so much of the Persimmon Collection remaining I was able to create a backing using various sized blocks of the fabric. The end result is the back looks like a quilt itself which I love.
I would love to be able to say I have now used up all of my Persimmon fabrics but I still have enough to make a small quilt or some pillow shams.
This quilt measures 67 inches by 67 inches which is a perfect sized lap quilt or picnic quilt. The dense quilting by Silver Fox Quilting gives the quilt a nice weight and of course, durability considering the tight and small scale quilting.
You can find this quilt in my Etsy shop here.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a fabulous day!
